Chi Omega Merchandise
Picture this: a sorority house filled with laughter, memories, friendship, and the occasional giant cargo box of hoodies. Welcome to my world as the Marketing Director for Chi Omega at Michigan State University, where I embarked on a two-year journey of creating apparel for my sorority sisters.
Juggling school, sorority life, and merch didn’t come easy for me. It was a combination of late-night brainstorming sessions, coffee, and the occasional stern talking-to from our beloved house mom (she wasn't the biggest fan of me turning the hallways into temporary storage spaces for my merchandise).
Creating merch for Chi Omega became my artistic outlet and a source of creativity. I loved being able to design products that perfectly captured the essence of a sisterhood. I learned that a well-designed hoodie has the power to do more than just keep you warm—it can tell a story.
One of the highlights on my merch journey was our collaboration with Make-A-Wish, my sorority's philanthropy. I knew I wanted to make a difference with what I was creating, and I was the first marketing director to raise money through merchandise at my chapter. Through my creative endeavors, Chi Omega managed to raise over $1,000 for Make-A-Wish, which was an amazing accomplishment.
But there were also many challenges that came with handling this task. Picture this: a sea of sorority girls begging for hoodies, a spreadsheet in hand, and somehow I got placed with the task of distribution. It was chaos every few weeks to pass everything out, but somehow, I managed to do it each time without too many hiccups.
In the end, my time as the Marketing Director for Chi Omega was more than just a position—it was a canvas for creativity. And as I reflect on the giant cargo boxes, the hallway scoldings, and the countless hoodies that found loving homes, I can't help but be so happy I was able to have the position and find a way to use my creativity! Here, you’ll find some of my designs, what events they were for, and the people who supported me by wearing them. I hope you like them just as much as I do!
